Ultrasound at 38 Weeks!

We had an ultrasound today and we are officially 2 weeks away from delivery day! Here are some pics of the exciting event....

This first one is a side view and you can see her eyes, nose and lips.



This is also a side view, this time her face is away from us so you can really only see her cheek. I'm told her face is right up against the placenta and her head is down and in position.



She has some chubby cheeks and apparently some hair!



Surprisingly, she wasn't moving around much during the ultrasound then Walter began talking to my belly and she began to smile!

Pizza & Babysitting

This past weekend, Walter and I watched my brothers' kids.



We all made pizza together!


My mom and grandma came over for pizza too, then we all went for a walk!



When we came back from our walk Walter played the guitar for everyone!

5 weeks to go and some good news!

I cannot believe our little girl will be here in just 5 weeks! Wish it were sooner and maybe it will be, but I'm not holding my breath. Everyone keeps telling me that "your first is always late"...Not to mention that my mom is also continuously reminding me how she was late with all three of us and we tend to take after our moms. In my case, I wish I could take after Mom Dougoveto and have her early as she did with Walter. Is there any chance we can take after our husbands' mother?

As some of you know, I have had ongoing issues with my thyroid and today I had an appointment with a surgeon, at Beaumont, to see when I needed to schedule a surgery to have a left lobectomy done. Well, GOOD NEWS, he said that there is no need right now. He also stated that he would only get it taken out if it bothered me (which it doesn't at all). So, at this point, he said to just have another ultrasound 6 months after having the baby. He said, in his heart, he doesn't believe a "colloid nodule" (that's what I have) will ever become cancerous. The change in size of this nodule is apparently due to pregnancy and he has seen them go back to the pre-pregnancy size after delivery. I'm just sick of all the monitoring of it! Ultrasounds, biopsy's, etc... maybe I'd be better off without it..not sure.

One last thing...I went to a noon mass downtown yesterday and thought it was very nice to see three men in business attire taking their lunch at mass. Isn't that cool? When I told Walter, he said he used to do that often with a group of guys when he lived in Baltimore.

Scarlett's Room!

I thought I'd make my first post to include Scarlett's room. This shows the awesome job that Angela, Andrea & Walter did when they painted. The crib has been set up for awhile now and we bought a dresser that we will use as our changing table. We have 6 weeks to go!
